Learn more about the NYC - Borough-Based Jails Facilities
Representatives from the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ), Department of Correction (DOC), and the project’s Design-Build Team continue to seek community feedback to be incorporated into the design. This online platform is being made available to provide community members with an opportunity to provide feedback on the facility design process. This platform is intended to augment the in-person workshop and allow anyone unable to attend in person the chance to review and comment on design materials. The comment period on this website will close on Thursday, August 21st at 11:59 p.m.
The first Community Design Workshop for the new Manhattan Borough-Based Jail Facility was held on August 7, 2025 from 6-8pm at Surrogate’s Court.
